Would I Lie To You features a host, two team captains, four guests, and a mystery guest. The format involves the panellists taking turns asserting a particular fact or story is true, while the other team must interrogate them to determine if the story is indeed true, or a lie, often with hilarious consequences. The mystery guest is known to one of the panellists in some unique way, and the other members of their team must also claim they know the mystery guest, while the other team picks the correct story.
The earlier seasons also feature other rounds where panellists must guess the validity of celebrity facts, but these rounds are phased out.
Average episode length is 30 minutes
